What tools do you feel a magic user needs to have? Where did you find your tools or did you make them? Are there certain tools you find yourself using more than others? Here's the chance to discuss all of those tools we love to collect.

Well, this is weird but, when it's really sunny and I open my umbrella, the clouds suddenly block the sun. lol It's like I cast an automatic cloud spell when I open the umbrella.

Why are you opening your umbrella on a sunny day?

Yes, it rains a lot here especially when it's not summer, but it can get really sunny here too. (We're off-topic.)

The tool I use most often is my athame. Mine is a double-edged blade with an ebony handle and a brass cross-guard shaped like a crescent moon. My husband made if for me years ago.
The athame is a knife or dagger which is used to direct energy. It is never used to cut anything physical; however it can be used in energy work to "cut" a door in a ritual circle, or to "cut" the circle away from the physical world.
In Wicca the athame can be associated either with the Element of Air, or with the Element of Fire depending on which Tradition one is a member of. It is associated with the suit of Swords in the Tarot. The athame is also considered to be a representation of the God in Wicca.

Well I rarely use tools but if I'm about to use one it will be a wand or a staff and sometimes candles. I made my staffs and wand from a tree, but I don't know the english word for the tree pic

It rather looks like an apple tree in bloom. Does it have fruit on it later in the year?

Sorry, am just a rare visitor, am trying to be more of a frequent visitor. I was on a hunting spree for a yielding wand for beginner white witch, ways to draw runes (there are complex rune scapes for different spells), book of spells from one of your experienced members, since I trust this site more than others. Wand for different purposes would be helpful. I heard there is human hair involved, I would need an alternative, since that seems a bit gross. There is a quartz crystal stuck on its head which makes it look less appealing... would need alternative for that too.. Things... like powder, dried herbs, rare essential oils also make life easier, since I move from country to country, my only choice as of now is amazon. Best Regards, Angel!

I'm probably not going to be much help but I've never really used any tools of sort as I've always seen them as more the catalyst or conductor for magic and it helps to focus on what you are trying to do. This also comes with the words as well they help because they make you think about what you are casting and gives it a better chance. But for wands I would say make it personal and use items that have meaning to you, I would say the more connected you are to the wand / tool the easier it will be to cast magic as it won't just feel like a tool but a part of you. I hope this helps in anyway that's just my opinion on the topic.
