I use the anglo-saxon/seax-wicca runes for my mystical scripts and spellbooks. I was studying about the runes for 2-3 weeks. All the information you want about the elder futhard are here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elder_FutharkIts alphabet is similar to anglo-saxon/seax-wicca.

I am not sure about what you mean "phonetics". Im intending to try and learn runes. How did you do it, Middem?
Well, I study the runic alphabet and their meaning, name, letters in english and day to day I learned them. That's incredible! You learnt it in two weeks! I'd love to know how you did that, I want to try as well! Thanks for the info, by the way.
No problem. There are many runic alphabets you can learn. The Angelic alphabet which is used in Enochian Magic, the magic of angels(I am reading a book about enochian magic this time) the Anglo-Saxon/Seax-Wicca, the "Passing the River" and many others. Ohh, by the way, Germanic runes are also used in readings of the past, of the present and the future.

You don't know how to say them out loud? I suppose it must be hard to learn.
